Depending on the service required, costs for an Arborist to service your trees can vary greatly from company to company. At Just Trees you are paying for skill, experience and knowledge. The location, size and species will increase or decrease the cost of your project. A good starting point for hiring an experienced ISA Certified Arborist with Just Trees for a small to medium sized tree would be $350.00 pricing usually goes up from there.

On average you can expect to pay anywhere between $550.00 to $850.00 ( average medium size trees) for either tree pruning services or removal services. For larger trees depending on the scope of work between $1250.00 – $2500.00. There are exceptions when trees are extremely large. Pricing will dramatically increase. Most times these large mature trees slated for removal, spread their canopy over houses, garages and neighbouring properties. There may be service lines to contend with as well. Specialized equipment may be brought in ( if access is available) to help ensure a smooth and safe productive work flow in dismantling or pruning a large tree.

Where does the pricing come from?
At Just Trees we value our team. Experience, skill and knowledge doesn’t come cheap. Our team has been working for many years together to maintain the health and beauty of trees and removing small to oversized trees. Apart from that, there is tree location, tree specie, tree size, tree condition, is the tree safe to climb? There are overhead costs like insurance, fuel, what equipment will be used? How many people will be needed? How many potential targets to avoid? These are some of the factors we considered when it comes to pricing out your project. One thing to also consider, once we leave your property cleaned up for you to enjoy, our job is not over. There is still the issue of disposing the material we removed from your trees in order to get ready for our next project. This also takes time, fuel and wages paid.
How can I save money on tree services with Just Trees?
There are a few ways that can save you money when it comes to tree pruning and removals. An easy way to save money on your tree removal is to keep the firewood. Keep it for yourself or give it away to friends and neighbours. Wood piled up in the back driveway or stacked near the front sidewalk with a free sign is a pretty effective way of getting rid of unwanted wood. It usually disappears in about 48 hours. Depending on the size of the tree you could save between $100.00-$300.00 sometimes more on very large trees.

Another effective way to to lower costs is by keeping the wood chips. The wood chips help boost organic activity in your garden beds and return nutrients back into the soil. The wood chips also help suppress weeds.
You could choose to have “the no clean up” option, which means any material cut from the trees will be piled off to the side and left on site to be disposed of at your own convenience. This is not really recommended for urban settings, but works well on acreages with burn piles. Savings can be substantial especially on removals.
Talk with your neighbours. They may be thinking of having their trees worked on as well. this could lead to some savings for both of you. Depending on the work involved, some drive time can be eliminated and multiple tree discounts could apply.
Consider having your tree work performed in the off season. Winter is generally considered slow. At Just Trees, depending on our work load. Winter discounts are available with the potential of saving you hundreds of dollars.
Loyalty to your local Arborist, especially if they do a great job will pay off in the long run. At least at Just Trees we value our return clients and tend to offer lower rates. We have worked on your trees and know the objectives you are seeking. We know your trees’ weak points and can help keep them in check.
